Here are the results:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>ALAMEDA COUNTY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Alameda County District Attorney<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pamelaprice4da.com\/\"><b>Pamela Price<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><b>BCA endorsed<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by 69% of the members. She is running against incumbent Terry Wiley, who has strong endorsements, prosecuted the Oakland PD\u2019s abusive Riders. support and opposition. Steering Committee recommended a<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/berkeleyansforbetterplanning.org\/endorsers\/\"><b> NO Position<\/b><\/a><b>. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This measure would sell $650 million in general obligation bonds to be issued over a 48-years to build affordable housing, repair streets &amp; sidewalks, underground utilities on evacuation routes, improve buildings, infrastructure, and safety.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The BCA Steering Committee recommends a NO Position.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Measure M, <\/b><b>YES. <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/vacancytaxberkeley.org\/\"><b>Vacancy Tax<\/b><\/a><b>, AKA The \u201cEmpty Homes\u201d tax was recommended by 91% of BCA members who voted.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Would create financial penalties to discourage landlords from keeping rental units off the market and provide revenue to build \u201caffordable\u201d housing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Caution: Funds can be used for any general municipal services designated by the Council.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Measure N, <\/b><b>YES.\u00a0 <\/b><b>Authorizing Affordable Housing Expenditures: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">R<\/span><b>ecommended by 87% of the members<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. A racist 1950 law requires voter approval for all publicly financed housing. Measure N would meet that requirement for future subsidized housing in Berkeley. Until the state appeals this law, we must provide this approval to meet our affordable housing targets.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>STATE PROPOSITIONS<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Prop 1, <\/b><b>YES. <\/b><b>Constitutional Right to Abortion and Birth Control:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 94% of BCA members recommend a YES Vote<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Prop 26, No position.
